The Dogs Queen offers deshedding treatments in Antelope, CA — a great fit for huskies, shepherds, labs and other heavy-coated dogs, plus cats during shedding season. If your home is covered in fur, a deshedding treatment tackles the problem at the source: the undercoat.
Regular brushing at home helps, but it rarely reaches the dense undercoat that double-coated breeds blow out a few times a year. Alevtina uses professional-grade tools in our home-based studio at 8432 Giverny Cir, Antelope, CA 95843 to get down to that undercoat safely and thoroughly. Like every visit here, it’s one-on-one and cage-free: one pet at a time, with no crates.
It’s especially useful heading into spring and fall shedding seasons, when double-coated dogs and cats shed the most and homes fill up with loose fur fastest.
The final cost depends on coat condition. Matting and fleas are priced separately: mat removal is $35 per hour, shaving mats starts at $15, and flea treatment is $25 (required if we find fleas).
A cat’s express shedding treatment takes about 1.5 hours. For dogs, the time depends on size and coat thickness, and we’ll let you know when you book. For the best results during shedding season, we recommend a treatment every 4 to 6 weeks. Between visits, a good deshedding brush at home helps maintain the results and keep loose fur to a minimum.
Does it hurt?
No. Our tools only remove loose, dead undercoat. They don’t cut or pull at the healthy coat or skin, so it’s comfortable for your pet.
Which breeds benefit most?
Double-coated breeds like huskies, shepherds and labs see the biggest difference, though any heavy shedder can benefit.
Can cats get deshedding treatments too?
Yes. Many cats, especially long-haired breeds like Maine Coons, benefit from our express shedding treatment during heavy shedding season.
